I plan on making a free roam cage and wanted to know if there are any good lights (bulbs) that will give sufficient heat for basking as well as a good sorce of UV lighting for my cham.
If anyone has any input please let me know.
Thanks,
Lu

It is best to provide these seperately so that the chameleon is not forced to have both in order to get one. Both UV ray and heat gradients are beneficial to have in enclosures and providing both in one forces the chameleon to potentially overheat or get too cold during natural UV exposure regulation.

I agree with Chris, but just to answer your question there are specially desighned bulbs out there that do have both outputs. Mercury Vapor bulbs, "Active UV Heat Bulb" and even the Zoo Med "Halogen Bulb" which emmits 15% more heat and UVA output. There is also one more bulb out there, but I am unsure of it's name. The onlt problem is the mercury vapor and active uv heat bulb's range from around $40-$60 depending on where you buy them from----very expensive!
Hope this helps,
-Paul
