Burm on the loose

curaniel Sep 20, 2004 07:23 PM

I went into my local petstore today to get a rat pinkie for my new blood python. Outside, I noticed the Animal Control vehicle. The two officers were inside playing with the ferrets. When they left, I asked an employee what was up. "Oh, they caught an 8-foot Burmese wandering around in a neighborhood yesterday. They came in to get a rat for it." You know, you hear these stories, but you never expect them to happen in your own town. Why am I never the lucky one who finds these escaped or released snakes? I hope the former owner suffers a lot of bad karma for that. Here's to hoping that Burm gets a good home, but knowing what Animal Control is like around here, it's a slim chance.

A few years back when i was at the herp vet with my Ball python, a guy was in there with a 11' Burm he found outside, in the middle of the city, well behaved healthy, so it mustve recently got loose. Luckily the guy was keeping the burm, and knew what he was doing, so that one turned out well i think, which is rare in those kind of situations. (btw im in Colorado, in the winter time, that could SUCK for that burm!)
