Gabe stopped eating...what to do?

benzman1 Sep 20, 2004 08:02 PM

We evacuated for the storm last week and we took Gabe with us in his tank. We were in a house with a lot of kids and noise. Well the second noght we were there I attempted to feed her some mealies but she did not eat. We packed up and came home that next day Friday. Saturday I attempted to feed her a new fuzzy and she ran to hide. Tonight I put 8 crickets in her tank and she just looked at them and ate one then laid down and looked at them. Do I have anything to worry about. Her eyes look good and clear she is active and easy to handle...any ideas?

My leopard gecko always starts me worrying about her when she does this. I know have settled down about it. As long as Gabe doesn't lose weight, Gabe should be fine(lmao, didnt see if gabe is a guy or gal). My leopard gecko has gone without eating for five days, and it's not my fault. She just looks briefly at her food and goes back to sleep. I asked about my leopard gecko on here and peachstategeckos informed me that their metabolism keeps them from needing so much food later.

Thanks for the rely. What you explained is exactly what has happening. I'll sit back and see what happens. I figure she is still stressed for the evacuation and return home.

She sounds like she's stressed out from all of the moving around. Leopard Geckos are touchy that way, I think you should just wait a few days and she'll probably come around. Keep us posted.
