Terry,

Whats the length and weight of that crocodile? We observed several 3m C. acutus in Costa Rica two weeks ago, and I'm tryign to get a feel for its size relative to theirs. The animals we saw weren't quite as heavy for sure.

Thanks.

I measured him several times and came up with 15 feet 5 inches three different times and in May when he was weighed, he was 1042 pounds. Slightly less than he should be at that size, but he's gaining quickly.
We have real close to a 3m acutus, I'll see if I can snap a picture today.

I'd be interested in its weight as well.

does australia allow "live" reptile now ?

taphillip Sep 21, 2004 02:04 PM

No, not really....kinda...
In the last 30 years or so Ken Earnest exported Gomek and Annabel.
Then last year St. Augustine exported Maximo and a female.
Then we exported "maniac"
And now numerous other animals.

We started working with a Consortium of many of the Zoos in Australia last year to send animals to Au. as well as recieve animals. Which is possible with the right contacts that are patient and stubborn to help wade through the beuracuracy and Govt. paperwork.
