Is it alright to feed green worms to my turtles?

fisherk2 Sep 20, 2004 11:05 PM

I usually pick up earthworms at the store for my Asian Box and Western Box turtles but the other day all they had were green worms. Is the dye used for these worms unsafe?

Thanks!

NOOOOO!!!!!!!! DO not give them the gren dyed worms!!!! It says so on the container, DO NOT USE AS PET FOOD or something like that. Avoid those and the garlic flavored ones. Only buy the plain nightcrawlers

Thanks for the quick response. The box I bought doesn't say anything about not using them for pet food so I wasn't sure. Thanks again!

I'm surprised it doesnt say anything. I get mine at Walfart and the little foam cups say do not use as pet food. I guess the worm grower they use(which is like really local to me, I wish I could go to THEM and get 'em!) knows their little squigglies are used for pets too.
