I finally caught one of our hissers giving birth - not the greatest pic (we don't have a macro function on our camera) but you can see roughly how many young they give birth to and the relative size compared to the mom who is about ~ four inches long.

So, does that put the babies at about 1"?

The babies are born at roughly a 1/4 inch long to a big female like her.
