Im thinking about doing a paper on perception of dinosaurs.
Do you have any sources on reptile vision? You seem to be the only person who knows anything about it.

The paper is for a 300 level psyc course, what got me thinking was Jurassic park where they say "dont' move the T-rex senses movement" part. Which to me suggests they were guessing that the T-rex was color blind relying on its Rods and peripheral vision which is more sensitive to motion.

I think i can write a good long paper on reptile/dino vision :P

thanks in advance

There is a LOT of research going on with this particular subject. It is hard to say for certain if the dinosaurs were color blind or not, no tissue left to dissect! There is also lots of debate about some being endothermic or not. My guess would be that most of the nocturnal reptiles were most likely color blind (no light = no color, you need light to see colors), but the real debate is about some of the diurnal predators...some of them may have been able to see color. Their color vision may not have been as well developed as ours, it was probably still evolving. The birds probably were the first to really have decent color vision. Good luck on this, I would check some of the university palentology department websites from all over and some natural museums websites (Smithsonian being a good one). Also discovery.com has some good stuff...they did a whole program on dinosaurs a little while back.
