Keeping in the Heat

diggy415 Sep 21, 2004 06:46 PM

I need ideas to keep in the heat for this tank that my boa is in, I have a blanket ontop as it is half glass(door) and half screen which has wet towels and the heat lamp and the UTH. Im thinking i have to wrap the tank.

try some of that innuslation that they use on the out side of a new house before they put the siding on.it comes in 4x8 sheets .just a drop of clear silacon on the four corners and press on and let dry do that for all the sides back and bottom and let the front open. that will hold in the heat well used it for my 75gl with my rt in it

I use a layer of aluminum foil doubled over so it's two layers thick. I secure it to the screen top with a good quality tape.
I found that strapping tape, the vinyl filament tape hold up really well.
I change the foil about once a year.
I use this for the tanks my BRBs are in. And the humidity level in their tanks stays at around 75-80%.

THnks both of you, sounds like a good idea, will get flat sheets of stryafoam first, that insulation for the house sound perfect also, there is a lady who uses it in her windows (coo-coo) so i know the stuff. thnks again will keep you updated. Need her to feed again.

I use corkbark tiles. Looks good and does the job well. Clint
