Why wont he open his eyes!!!!??? Help!

hbluedevilh Sep 21, 2004 07:22 PM

Ok...another post on Jordon.

After giving him a mist, (previous post mentioned that he had skin on his eyes because of shedding and thats why I thought he wasnt opening his eyes). I gave him a mist to soften the skin and he enjoyed it.

Now that he is dry and getting a few warm rays he is trying to get around his cage but is falling all over the place because he cant see!!! He opened his eyes only a few times after the shower. He just wont open them! Whats wrong?!

I recently aquired him (about two weeks) and everything is knew. ReptiSun and Zoo Med Daylight Blue (UVA) are what I use for him.

His cage is well planted but since he cant see he is just falling all over the place. Right now he is calm but his eyes just wont open.

He has fed regularly and has gained some weight actually since he arrived here. He just stopped eating the other day when I notices that he hadnt opened his eyes for a whole day.

Please any help would be greatly appreciated. His color is good as he is not stressed, (typical normal colors, no browns, or blacks). I will be calling a vet tomorrow,. I just cant see him like this.

Any Imput would be great.

Thanks,

Lu

Try rubbing his eyes with a q-tip dipped in water. It is possible that there is some shed skin stuck in his eyes. Try showering him again also, that seemed to help a bit. Do you have msn? I'm chimbakka@hotmail.com if you want to add me, and you can update me later tonight on the situation.
