beginner species?(LONG)

what species of frog could live ina ten gallon....i'd like an active one that doesn't need too much humidity although the substrate is covers in a half inche of moss right now

i'll describ my current setup:

about 1.5 inches of wood chips and soil that is all safe for herps.

about .5 inch of sphagum moss ontop of that.

a piece of drift wood that leaves about 2 inch gap to move throw on the back of the tank on half of the width on one side....there is a carpet layer(large peice stuck together)
of sphagum moss on top of the wood which lets the frogs climb up if wanted. 2 shor three leafed potho vines, a short two leafed philodendron vine,to little 6 inche high ficus cuttings, and agian growing moss.

i forgot to make room for a water bowl...there is space avalable in the cage but is needs to be small...

the light is a 7 month old uvb tube the humidity is around 60% i think and temps are in the 70s most of the time.

if nothing fits in this style vivarium i can move it all to a 20 gallon long tank....which i can easily turn into a 50/50 or 75/25 (land/water)

since i am new to terrestrail frogs what do you sugest..also id like the frogs to not cost $65 each like drat frogs....somthing around the price of horned frogs or fire bellies if possible.
sorry so long

Well you could try American Toads, they would live pretty well in this setup, but I would go no more than 2 in an aquarium of that size. Or Green Treefrogs, Grey Treefrogs,or Cuban Treefrogs even though they are not as active. If you were willing to make more water area there are lots more options, but not without a water area the size of a bowl.

I am willing to tranfer the stuff from the ten gallon into a 20 gallon long.i would set the drift wood and things up still...

I'm am deciding wither to make a 50/50 vivarium or not....I would like to know what types of frogs could liv ing a 20 gallon long tank and they would activly move around on land...water might have a fish or two in it so i wouldn't like firebellies unless they are very active......i would go with a horned frog but i am afraid that since they dont move i can sit and watch them hop around..

I may be asking too much....is there a frog that is terrestrial, active (diurnal prefered),not over priced(like some dart frogs),easy to care for.

i hope that fire bellies are not the only frog that fits those......an american toad wouldn't bother me just were to find one or one's tadpoles outside or where to buy one

american toads are not that active. mine spends most of his time half-buried. but they are cool pets nonetheless. you could probably find one in the wild. i would recommend just taking one, and it should be about an inch long; smaller ones are harder to feed and larger ones are already too deeply acclimated to wild living n my opinion.

A firebelly would be a great choice. If you moved to the 20g long, you could put a pair in there. They do usually prefer being in the water; I would recommend a water bowl that covers about half the tank floor, that you can easily dump out the water and change it daily. Good luck!
