flood lights

franz_ferdinand_ Sep 21, 2004 08:44 PM

I got a 75 watt flood and it was so weak (heat wise) it barley got my ackies basking temp to 116. So I moved to a 95 watt GE house light and 130-135 basking temps. What flood lights do you guys use?

I use Slyvania 75W halogen I can get up to 150F do you have a raised basking spot? If not look on proexotics.com for a retes stack they are easy to make and they make a huge difference in thermoregulatiuon that should help alot.

I usually prefer floods because they create
a larger basking area, but if your light is
high above, you could try a spotlight.
