Tree frog set up

FroggyToads Sep 21, 2004 09:49 PM

Hi,
My wife and I own a pacman frog already and have fallen in love with a White's Tree Frog we saw. Immediatly we ran out and bought a 35 gallon hex tank. We realize that White's are aboreal. We will need to set up some climbing branches for him. I have the branches. How do we go about securing these? Especially ones that go to the floor of the tank? I wouldn't want a branch to turn and the frog to go flying.

Any help is appreciated

I love my white tree frog. He sings to the alarm clock and to the answering machine when they go off. I would use thick bark and lay it against the glass and have another one crossing it to make sure if it does slid its not going to slid far. Or try to make the wood go from one coner to another. Put the water dish where a main branch is so it helps to stable it. Slanting the wood helps too. Also whats great is string or rubberbands . If your branches cross you can tye them together to help them be stable. You could use cilacone to glue the branches to the glass? Personally even though i live right by a forest i buy my wood. I never know what could be on the wood if i get it from "the wild." It need to be steral. You can get wood from the wild though and bleach the crap out of it though. Make sure its really well rinsed before you put it into the cage. Good luck i hope i've helped!
