Trying to swtich a 9' retic onto rabbits

ben_renick Sep 21, 2004 11:04 PM

I have a retic that is deff ready to start on 1 to 1 1/2 pound rabbits, but it's not taking them, I have tried thawing them out alone, and then I have tried with other rats to see if it would take the smell, but it didn't work. I'm going to a pet store tomorrow and see if they have anything I can use, so if you have anything that maybe I should pick up, just say it The people there might help too, it's actually the only pet store I know of around here that actually take good care of their pets. They have room sized enclosures for all their huge snakes (20' Retics) and everything. But anything would be helpful

Dengar was a little hesitant to take rabbits too.
Basically, I just let him get really hungry and only offered him only rabbits. He refused it his first feeding, so I tried again a week later and he took it.
The next time I offered it, he again refused it, so I waited until next and he took it greedily.
Now he readily eats them and loves them.
Good Luck!
