taphillip Sep 22, 2004 01:17 AM

Just picked up Morelia carinata, the Rough scaled python from the airport!
First time ever outside of Australia!

One of the rarest snakes on earth!

I also quickly learned that they do have REALLY large teeth!

Ahhhhhh....what fun!

Pictures comeing soon!

I heard rumors the aussie govt may loosen their grip a bit regarding zoo to zoo fauna exports. Is this the case or did you work some other kind of magic? Also, what about other species. Anything else in that box? Congrats!

I doubt they'll ever open up on that large of a scale. Perhaps a few animals here and there between zoos, but definitely not enough to cause supply to exceed demand in our market. If anything prices will continue to go down not because of increased supply, but because of decreased demand as more folks are choosing to spend their big bucks on ball pythons and not much else. Just my $.02

That is awesome! My wife and I tried to make it up there from Utah a few years back but Wyoming got us and we had car troubles and couldn't finish the journey. Now you have rekindled my desire to get up there. That would be worth the journey to see those pythons!
See you soon,
