NEED HELP PLEASE

Zeus Sep 22, 2004 03:51 PM

hi all. i know i dont post on this forum much but i need a question answered. first heres the scenario. today i had my adult male cuban rock iguana out of his cage while i was cleaning it. wasnt really watching him cause i was just concentrating on cleaning. well i turned around just in time to see him knock over my crested gecko enclosure. i have a pair and i checked the day before yesterday for eggs and there was nothing. well after he knocked over the cage, 2 freshly laid eggs fell out of the egg laying container, (must have been laid last night). they didnt break or anything but just wondering, (and dont laugh), if the eggs roll, does that cause the new embrio to drown, (i heard that somewhere). i put them in the incubator but just wondering if they are going to hatch. thanks for any info you can give me and sorry this is so long.

When i got my first eggs i had no clue that you werent supposed to roll them. Anyway i flipped and turned those who knows how many times. They still hatched out perfect, but i dont suggest doing what i did.

The advice I was given the first time I worried about that same sort of thing was if the eggs get turned in the first few days its not a problem .He also suggested you mark the top with a marker so that you can right the eggs should it happen later on.
(That tip was from Randy of RandBgeckps)

Incidently either way stick the eggs back in the incubator ..it costs exactly nothing to try .
