It has been claimed in former threads in this forum that the UN resolution announced dire consequences and that Germany, France and Russia had also supported the resolution.
Apparently the guys who posted this seem to forget that the UN chief inspector Hans Blix was in the middle of a successful work when George Dabbljuhh sounded the charge.
At that time NO WMD had been found (because as we know now they don't exist) and the Iraq was fully cooperative (due to the U.S. army that surrounded its border).
Hans Blix said he needed more time and he commended the Iraq for his cooperation.
Fear crept into the guts of George Dabbljuhh. He saw his war that he craved anxiously for going down the hill.
Getting panicky he claimed the inspections to be finished.
So even when all nations supported resulution 1441 and if dire consequences meant war, it was not correct to attack at that time.
Many of you will say now that Saddam has had enough time, but as a matter of fact the inspections were abandoned just at their most effective time.
I am convinced that George Dabbljuhh feared the result.
