I felt the previous laws limiting possession to 4 animals and prohibiting sale/collection for sale were sufficient. I'm planning on giving a friend of mine up there in Indiana a hatchling Gulf Coast box turtle as a gift. I hate to see her have to go through the trouble of getting a permit for a non-native subspecies. She thinks they're really cute and seems pretty excited about having one for a pet. I hope the new laws don't discourage her.
