Change in tank size, heating question.

jsc230 Sep 22, 2004 10:34 PM

I just moved into a new house, and I now have room to move my leopard gecko from a 10 to a 20l.

Currently I have a ceramic tile substrate and use a 60 watt ceramic heat lamp. It keeps the temps a perfect 88-90 all the time, and the tile holds heat for belly heat. The cool end is generally 77 or so.

When i move to a 20l, still using tile as a substrate will my 60watt heat emitter still be good to keep part of the tank the right temperature or will I need a bigger emitter?

I would think since your 20L is the same height as you 10 that you shouldn't notice too much reduction in heat. Your cool end may be cooler.

Hope this helps.
