Anyone have any Stenodactylus petrii???

icedearthgoddess Sep 22, 2004 10:55 PM

My geckos are finally coming around to eating crickets... for the longest time they would not eat them, I went from pinhead to small, to slightly larger small, and they wanted nothing to do with them! Has anyone else had any experiences like this with their S. petrii? Just curious...

I had a cricket injure one of mine by biting her head. The gecko later died. It was not that big of a cricket but it apparently chewed on the top of the lizard’s head. Just be careful, as many folks have warned, about leaving crickets in with a lizard that isn't eating them.

I feed my petrii's little crickets.. When you don't want to have problems with biting you have to try the cockroach Sherfordella tartara.. Its a perfect insect for feed all kind of gecko's and jung hatchlings can be eaten perfect..they don't bite, are easy to breed and are much more healtier than crickets. And they cannot escape very well.. They cant climb so you can breed them in plastic boxes I have thousands of tartara's and I sell them also
