arabian sand boas

kamakiri Sep 23, 2004 02:47 AM

i was wondering about arabian sand boas and any information that differs between them and kenyans. i was also wondering about if they laid eggs or not. im not really into eggs, i bred fat tail geckos for 5 years and having norms, stripes, and albinos was fun and all but the eggs got bothersome at points. this snakes looks cool and i am hoping to get some feed back. thanks in advance!

the arabian are easy to keep ,i keep mine same as kenyans except no water ,and i use ground walnut ,will eat pinkies to small mice, larger then hoppers.i feed live, they are on average shy,but all have eaten the first day. you need a little more patience then with kenyans, females need to be about 150 grams to breed, this snake below is a 150 gram female, they can reach this size in a year and a half, the males on average are smaller then kenyan males. there is a difference in size in males and female tho not as much difference as in kenyans,i actually have a male thats bigger then my females.

they sound nifty, about the water. do you offer them water at all or do they just not need it or what? and also where would you recomend obtaining a female from, or do you breed them yourself and if so how much would a female cost me? thanks for your time hope to hear back soon.

im am presently not selling any,i havnt seen any for sale, sorry.there hard to come by.they dont need the water ,they get it from the mice, kenyans can go with out to if they are eating regular,of course baby kenyans and non eating adults is a different story.
