Custom Caging that can handle Humidity

NCStateHerps Sep 23, 2004 09:13 AM

Looking at building a custom setup, and I've read how people have trouble with melamine not withstanding humid conditions. I was browsing over the new Reptiles USA annual magazine and saw and ad for www.sundragons.com, which had a enclosure built out of PVC coated sheeting. I did a web search and could not find a retailer for this material. Anyone have any suggestions for where I should look or who might carry it? Thanks

No help from me on where to find PVC coated sheeting but check over in the Cage and Habitat Design forum on this site as there are lots of posts and people over there with experience on high humidity enclosures.

I have heard good things about FRP (fiberglass reinforced panel) for high humidity work, available at most home improvement stores.

I take it this is not for Uros? Standard melamine would work fine for Uro cages as long as you can deal with the weight.
