Is that normal??

Yesterday i was worried because my Bearded Dragon, Croissant, wasnt making enough exercise. He has MBD (he’s a rescue)and almost doesnt move!So i put him in my bathtub filled with water hoping he would swim and exercise his legs.Well he swam for around half minute then he inflated his belly until it became round like a balloon or a buoy and just floated on the water! Pretty smart dont you think so? By the way my iguanas are not able to do that!

My babies do the buoy thing, too. Amazing, isn't it?!

That's what my 3 yr old female does. Better than my 1 year old male. He's a bone head and doesn't know he can swim, he jsut tries to walk along the bottom no matter how deep it gets. Crazy huh?

I take my dragons out and let them explore the room. A good game is to get some yummy greens they really like and put them in small pieces scattered around on the floor. That way they have to foredge (sp?) for them like wild dragons. Or I'll take them outside on a leesh and let them explore out there.

I read a lot about your little rescue through the pogona lists. Is he getting any better? I understand you live very far away and have a hard time finding the proper calcium, and uvb lights, and probiotics there. If you need you can contact me at Vangogh79@aol.com and I will see to it that some calcium and powersun uvb bulbs get shipped your way. Let me know Flavia if I can help. Good Luck.

I have had him for 1 month already and he was not geting much better.Although im puting him in the sun for 10 hours everyday he was not able to digest his food properly anymore, could not walk very well and his arms were very twisted. Then a very good friend of mine that raises Beardies said to me to give him calcium gluconate instead of the calcium carbonate i was giving him. It seems he was too weak to digest the calcium carbonate. It was very difficult to find the calcium gluconate here in Malaysia but i found it (my vet got some and gave me) and i gave it to him 2 days ago.You must see the difference! He starts to digest his food and yesterday he climbed a small truck i put in his cage and he started to lick everything (what he could not do due to the swollen lips). It worked like a charm!

Thank you very much for your offer! Its very nice to have the opportunity to know people like you! That is what i like most in this FORUM!

Cool guess I got beat to the punch.lol. Oh well, great people we have around here. Good Luck with the little guy glad he is starting to digest his food. The probiotics should be very important now. I guess that would have been sent in the package? Let me know if not. Also the natural sunlight is the best for him right now just make sure he gets the proper basking spot of 105-110 so he can digest a little easier. And the Powersun Mercury Vapor bulb is always an option. That's what the vets prescribe for serious MBD. Let me know if you need one. Keep us posted, and good luck.
