Okay, just out of curiosity...Where do dragons get their calcium from in the wild? Sure, we suppliment them in captivity, but what do they eat in the wild for a calcium source?
Its just something i've been wondering, any input would be appreciated.

bearded dragons get their calcium from insects and vegetation in the wild. The reason it's recommended to add extra calcium into their diet in captivity is to ensure they do have enough available. Dragons have much more variety of greens and insects available to them in the wild than we can provide them, not to mention we can't offer native Australian plant life. Supplimentation with calcium and multivitamines helps ensure the dragons are getting everything they need.
