Awesome Black Basin owned by an even better guy....

chameleonone Sep 23, 2004 10:40 PM

Here is a really cool pic I took of Tony Nicoli's Black morph Amazon Basin I thought would be nice to share. Beleive it or not this animal is even better in person. I was fortunate enough to take pics of just about everything in Tony's collection and I will say while other Basins he has might not be as unique as this black gal they are stunning in their own right. It was an all around great experience to be around all those great animals and to hang out with Tony and his wife Pam - was well worth the drive up from Orlando in rush hour traffic!

I think we all would LOVE to have one. Have a feeling though you'd have to pry her or any offspring from Tony's dead, lifeless hand, hahahaha. Awesome site you have going btw, really dig Aphrodite. Shoot me an email and I'll send off some of the other pics I took of Tony's stuff, really mind blowing!

I have seen that snake in person, and as good as your photo is, no photo can do her justice. Did you acquire any basins or northerns from him? If so, please post a photo....I hope you guys don't get hammered by Jeanne....I just got over Ivan in the Panhandle...4 major blows in one season is just too much...well, maybe it will stimulate the ETBs to breed bigtime!

I couldn't agree with you more about your assesment regarding the photo. I've found after actually being able to see all these animals in person that just about every picture I have seen of Basins can't fully represent their color and only hands on experience can show you their stunning beauty.

I did end up buying a few Basins from Tony that hopefully provided this new hurricane doesn't sink Florida I should be getting next week. The male I got is over a year old and is AMAZING! Thick barb-wire, fully connected stripe AND he has these amazing blue lines on his sides. I did get pictures of the animals I picked up but I think once I get them I can get better shots than what I've already taken - that blue I was talking about didn't show up good enough for my taste. I will be more than happy to post further pics. Lucky for me I was only visiting Florida at the time when I was able to go by Tony's and don't have to mess around with Mother Nature on this level on a full time basis - good luck to all in that area. I did have to fight rush hour traffic though, but like I said, worth every minute spent in that road construction on the 95 during rush hour no less.

congrats!!!!Tony showed me his newborn and yearling ETBs also...
To see such young Basins with such thick full stripes and then to think that they will actually get thicker is pretty amazing...BTW, have you ever seen such a clean facility??!!!???
Also, my wife just couldnt get over your chamelian photo....

Clean? Everything looked brand spanking new and I know he has had those cages for a long time. I mean I didn't even see 1, not 1 condensation stain on any of the plexi cages he has. We all know it has to be pretty humid in the cages and plexi loves to get stained in those type of conditions and there wasn't even 1 mark. I think that was the biggest thing said that day that Tony is so on the level without him having to tell me anything. It was amazing how meticulous he is and it is obvious that this regiment is working. So, that just tells me to mimic it and hopefully I'll have the same success, years from now unfortunatly but the process has been started.

Thanks for the compliments on Cyclops. He is obviously one of my favorites and is one of the best breeders I have. Shoot me an IM and I'll send you as many Chameleon pics you'd like for you and your wife to enjoy.
