Here's one of my columbian redtails...

Scott_Sullivan Jun 26, 2003 10:01 PM

Hello all, I just figured I'd post a pic of one of my boas. She's just a normal columbian redtail, as far as I know. If anyone can tell anything by the pic feel free to pass on some info. Her name is Minikin and I adopted her a couple years ago. All I was told is that she's a red-tail but don't know the actual kind. Thanks for checking her out, Scott.

My snake page.

I forgot to mention, she is about 6 or 7 years old, 8 feet and about 30-35 lbs. Take care, Scott.

Hello Rose, thank you very much. I'm not much of a photographer so it's pretty rare that I get a nice pic like that one I do reptile presentations for my daughters school and she's always been a perfect lady. I'm pretty active with my daughters school system and I'm affectionately known as "The snake man" LOL. In the four years I've been going there I've seen peoples attitudes towards snakes change drastically. The teachers (many of whom wouldn't even be in the same room as my snakes) now ask me to hand them a snake as soon as I pull them out of the bags (especially my ball pythons). I have a male who is a year older than her and is very similar to her except a bit darker (and a bit smaller of course). Thanks again, Scott.

She looks like a perfect lady too. Very 'regal'. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you eurban2, she's a very loved snake here in our family. She lives in the same cage as my male, Spot (and has since before I got her) and when either one is taken out, the other will sit with his/her head resting against the glass until she comes back home. While I know snakes don't have emotions (at least not like humans) I think they may be the exception. Once they are returned to their home they will go and curl up together. Thanks again, Scott.
