3 Out Of 4...

JohnZ Sep 24, 2004 09:28 AM

I finally have produced my 1st Ball Pythons. I have been doing this for close to 2 years now and finally have babies.

I mated my 1.0 Pastel to a 0.1 normal and 4 eggs came from her in June.

On Sept 12th, 3 of her 4 eggs hatched. The one was fully developed but dead. Out of the 3 it looks like 1 is a Pastel and the other 2 are normal. I do not know the sex as i do not know how to pop pr prob a Ball. I am bringing them to a local pet store(a guy raises Balls) is going to show me.

Anyways, i am sure its no big deal to most here, but it means a lot to me and my wife and daughter. Almost like Christmas...

I think even for the big breeders, every hatchling brings back the great memories of their first. I am VERY happy for you. I have just started and won't have babies until maybe 2006! I will try next year, but these kids are family. I only want the best for all of them. Congrats to your whole family.

Sounds good. I am in Spring Hill, about 30 minutes north of Tampa. My collection is still very small, but am working on it. Hope to breed a few more this year, got all my Hets up to size(or at least by Dec.).

Yes, would be fun to meet. Thanks for the post... JohnZ

Yes, i have to agree. My daughter who is 8 loves the collection and even more, loves the idea of creating babies. The day after they hatched, she brought an empty egg shell to school to show her class. She love this hobby and i try and teach her as much as i can. She loves going to the shows and all that.

Wife to is my helper, she holds the Balls while i clean tubs out. Great family project, oh, my daughter helps with cleaning as she folds the newspaper for the cleaned tubs. I LOVE THIS STUFF... JohnZ
