Pink underside

osiris3377 Sep 24, 2004 10:41 AM

I purchased a baby brazilian rainboa boa about a month ago. He's been doing great, but recently i've noticed the entire length of his underside has a very pink coloration. Is this a normal occurence or could it be something else. Any feedback would be great.

Thanks, Ryan

Ryan,
..Sometimes their bellies turn a little pink when they are getting ready to shed. They can also get a more serious looking pink belly if they are left on substrate which is too acidic or basic. These snakes pass a lot more liquid urine than most other snakes and if you do not change their substrate fairly often it can become very acidic.
