Hi there, this is my first time posting though I have, to the best of my knowledge anyway, read all the old posts.

I'm in the process of getting a few broad-banded watersnakes, born a few weeks ago. very small, very cute! I've got a 20 gallon that I'm getting ready till I can get a bigger, more permanent set-up.

The whole thyroxinase discussion/debate has been really interesting and I'm looking for more scientific reading on the subject.

anyway, glad to be here, y'all seem like a really interesting/informative group

later
Nikki

Always glad to meet new Nerodia enthusiasts. It seems they are few and far between. I look forward to hearing about your confluens and please post pictures if you are able.

And a hello from the "high north" as well! The people are friendly, the waters are fine, jump right in. You may have to excuse Pierson from time to time though, he gets conflused.

I was just thinking about this summer when you thought you got a red belly and it turned out to be a sunburn!

Moving right along ... while cleaning out the sipedons cage last week, I found 6 (embryonic sacks??) the size of jelly beans in her hide box! They where dried out, looked exactly like mini snake eggs and had (was it yoke) inside them? Am I mistaken? AM I CONFLUSED???
Have I picta good time to ask? Do I own a cd rhom? I went to the dentist yesterday, got florid ana cleaning. I'm taxing your patience so, I'll quit while I'm a het!

So you just like to pick on me huh? That hurts. That's hard to deal with, and if it gets any harteri I might just snap. Fortunately I've got this bottle of wine to soothe my emotions. So as I take a sipedon Perione I leave you with one question:

You do know that sipedon is a male right?

YES, YES, YES a male! Now who's pickin' on who? It's just a query ...?

OK, I'll get honest here or at least quit with the real bad puns (for now, 'cause I can't think of any). I don't know what the biological material was that I found. Shame is, that it had been there long enough for the interior to "crystalize" ... just like dried out yoke. The terrarium was purchased new for this snake and paper substrate was changed for bark nuggets about a month and a half ago, so no outside influence. My thoughts went to consider cocoons at very first glance but where dismissed apon inspection.
Oops, gotta go ... lunch call
