CareFresh....it is more pleasing to the eye, but I only have four snake, ball, redtail, Dumerils and corn. If I had as many as you guys I would probably use newspaper also. Tracy

I'm still a newbie, but I've been using Repti-Bark. I think I'll be switching shortly to newspaper. It's safer. Once when my ball was feeding, he struck at the mouse and got a piece of bark lodged in his mouth. He couldn't close his mouth, and he couldn't open any wider to get it out. I had to remove it. I felt so bad for him. It must've hurt a bit.

Anyway...nice thread. I'm interested in what more people have to say.

I use newspaper.

If I didn't have humidity issues, I would be using shredded aspen, cuz it's safe, much more absorbent, better looking, and way easier to clean (saves alot of time).

If I could fine a good humidifier that could keep a 20'X14' room at around 50%-60% humidity I would switch to aspen in a heartbeat. Any ideas about humidifiers? Anybody?

cypress mulch, smells nice and keeps the humidity between 60 to 70.

You just spot clean it & change the entire cage every month or two (depending on how it smells).
