Strange Eye

BillyBoy Sep 24, 2004 12:43 PM

Have any of you ever seen anything like this? A little background - this is a female I found on the side of my house a few months back. Normally, I catch them, bring show them to my daughter and then release them, but this poor little girl just looked beat up. She was thin with some healing wounds, stuck shed on an old cut on her neck and this eye. Soooo she ended up staying with us. Anyway, I'm curious if any of you have seen anything like this as I'm not sure if it's a birth defect or was somehow damaged. She's doing great otherwise and the eye seems to work. Billy

>>Oh yeah, a few weeks after we took her in, I found this beautiful boy out on the street. Unfortunately, I sometimes see them DOR after the first sighting, sooooo he has come to stay with us as well. He has been a total pig from day one and is just a joy compared to dealing with some of my other fussy animals. Billy

Out of all the possible corn morphs, these good ol, South FL normals are still my fave. With any luck, I'll get some eggs out these two this spring. Then, of course, I will have to release at least two back into my neighborhood to replace their parents.

I know NOTHING about snakes, but I had a friend in school who had a similar abnormality. Her pupils where actually at the bottom of her iris, looked very similar to the eyes in this snake. She said it was a genetic defect. She also said it did not effect her vision.

Well, I know all of you under 40 are asking who the heck is Marty Feldman LOL, but he was a comic "back in the day" who had eyes he could move in just about any directions LOL.
I could not tell you what caused it, but if she seems to be doing well in your care, it looks like you have a new Corn to keep.
Good Luck with her
