One reason agaist Kerry

EricWI Sep 24, 2004 03:15 PM

I found this survey for John Kerry from Humane USA. Here is the portion that I found:

Exotic Animals. There are millions of animals – from Gambian rats to giant lizards –
that are caught in the wild for the purpose of selling them into the commercial pet trade.
Mortality rates are typically very high for animals subjected to traumatic capture,
transported long distances often in entirely deficient housing, and afforded inadequate
food and veterinary care throughout the process. Once here in the United States, these
exotic animals can pass on diseases to native wildlife and to people. Only domestic
animals, such as cats, dogs, and horses, make suitable pets.

WILL YOU SUPPORT ENACTMENT OF LEGISLATION TO HALT THE
TRADE IN WILD ANIMALS FOR THE PET TRADE? _X_ yes ___ no

Ok...I went looking for that and found that HSUS officially supports Kerry (and hates Bush-something I can actually like th pres for!)but found no information on his anti-pet petition (as posted ). Can you supply a link that will verify your posting?

This is a serious charge and I would really like to see the proof please.

The only reason I can think that he would sign that would be that all his "Hollywood friends" did. Definitly a money judgement here. Not too smart when it comes to the rest of us.

Were they really aloud to have a dog in Vietnam? That doesnt sem like it would be too smart. Kind of strange to me anyway.

Not strange at all. Stray dogs are common enough there. Sometimes the locals eat them.

Taking a pet is not at all unusual for servicemen in another country.

That depends on the command. Off base regulations are far less strict.

Besides...Rank has privilges.
