Humidifier?

duckofdomination Sep 24, 2004 03:20 PM

I was wondering. I am getting a day gecko on sunday, Is there anything on the market that is like a reptile humidifier? I dont want it to be TOO humid but i would like somthing easier than having to spray the tank a bagillion times every day.

I have a new leo named Mr.Crowley. He lives in a 20 gallon long tank all by himself. Here is a picture of him if you go to the url below...

While this (go to link) isn't a reptile hudifier it is what I use on all my tanks. With a very simple modification it works great. What I do is take the white vent thing off the top (it just pops off), then in the tube going down thru the tank I put a 1 1/2" sch.40 pvc coupler (get at any hardware store) then simply put a 1 1/2" pipe with a couple 90deg. bends in it in the coupler and you have a tank humidifier. The "fog" production is adjustible so you can have just a little bit rolling out or you can make the tank so foggy you can't see in.

*The above discription sounds way more complicated then it really is (it really is a 5min. mod), and don't glue any of the joints or you wont be able to take the pipe off to refill the tank.
