New Gecko hasn't been eating

Nakota Jun 26, 2003 10:52 PM

I've had a new adult male leo for two weeks now and he hasn't been eating at all. He's still got a nice fat tail but doesn't seem interested in anything I've offered him so far (Crickets, mealworms, superworms, can-o-worms, waxworms). He is pooping though. I've pretty much left him alone without too much hassle in his cage since I got him so he could adjust to the new home (I do change the water daily). Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

don't worry until he starts losing weight. adults usually take a while to get comfortable.

your head will collapse, but there's nothing in it, and you'll ask yourself, "where is my mind"

yea, also are you sure he hasnt eaten anything. My male never will eat in front of me. All my females come running and will all eat out of my hand but my male will just look and move on. Sometimes it seems he hasnt ate in a long time time put he poops and has the biggest tail of all my Leos. He used to worry me alot, but has adults they will slow down on how much and often they eat. Watch for him to lose weight.

I feel a little better, knowing this isn't abnormal.

As I said, his tail is still nice and fat, and thanks, I will keep a sharp eye on him to see if he starts losing any weight. I know he hasn't eaten anything so far because anything live he hasn't eaten within 10 minutes I take out of the cage, and the 7 worms from the can-o-worms sat there for a day before I removed them. I'll try him on some more worms later today.
