Urgent: Worms (been asked before, but can't find)

murphy1701 Sep 24, 2004 07:10 PM

It was recommened to me to feed me bearded dragon meal worms. I got him King meal worms. I know there is a difference, but not sure what.

My question is, which type of worm has the highest calcium, and lowest chance of eating a whole in my dragons belly?

He is 1 year and 2 months, about 400 grams I think and about 18-19inches long.

Silkworms are good and high in calcium

It is superworms (zorphas) that you want. Not King mealworms.
There is a difference. King meal worms are mealworms
on steriods. And are kept in the frig.

The eating a hole in your dragons stomach is a myth.

First off. Dragons have a tendency to chew their food.
Second off. Put a superworm in water and see how long it lives.
And that does not even count the stomach acids that would kill
it.

The myth could of been started by a petshop who's dragon
died from something else. And the superworm was feeding on
the dead dragon. Good a excuse as any for why the dragon died,
eh! They would not have to look to see what accually killed it.
Like lack of care. Or wrong substrate.
