West African Lizards

These guys range from Liberia to Nigeria and are very abundant in all of the port areas -- I work on a ship. I refer to them as orange headed agamas, but sure they have another name. The males have orange heads, females are less colorful and have green speckles on the head.

Its classified as A. Agama ( Agama Agama) and yeah, he is beautiful. The males usually brighten at breeding season.

I have a forum buddy who breeds these pretty lizards, with great success.

I never knew they would hang out near docks. I do know they hang on sides of buildings and such. Have you caught any?

Or do you just look at them and enjoy?

Thanks for the awesome pic!
