pics of my first snake

maestrOwen Sep 24, 2004 11:26 PM

well....not really my first
We had a big fishtank with several worm snakes when I was 7

but this is Ozzy the corn snake, the first snake who was actually mine
he's not a blood, but I think he's beautiful

Ozzy hanging out in a fig tree in the back yard

Ozzy exploring a funky-looking stump

and this one's pretty cool too: Ozzy on a persimmon tree

I took these pictures a couple of winters ago...I think Feb 2003

I got Ozzy in 8th grade from a friend of my mom's....so this October, I will have had him for four years

and...despite Daphne the blood python's beauty, my mom still thinks Ozzy is just brilliant and more strikingly beautiful

anyway, I hope you have enjoyed these pictures and I hope you aren't too disappointed that they aren't of blood pythons...just wanted to show off Ozzy

oh and btw...I'm not a Black Sabbath fan; just have to clear that up before someone goes around thinking I named him after Ozzy Osbourne

sorry man...I didn't mean to dis on Sabbath...I like a couple of their songs; just wanted to clear up any confusion that might lead one to believe that the snake is named for Ozzy Osbourne but I suppose it doesn't really matter that much now does it...

and the snake....I'm not sure really what kind he is. He looks a lot like an okeetee corn, but I think they have thicker black borders around the red spots.

glad you like him!

Hey,
Just kidding! I love that snake, and an Okeetee no less. I just received a pair of babies from a friend the other day, at the White Plains show as a gift, and they are awesome. Well, at least the parents are. But, I'm pretty sure that the little ones will turn into something special too. Lovely pictures of it climbing that tree. That flat belly comes into play for just that kind of surface.
