Question for Rodent Breeders/Hurricane survivors in Florida

EricIvins Sep 24, 2004 11:59 PM

Has anyone noticed their colonies killing off new litters or existing offspring? I've been talking to a few local breeders and so far most of them have either a 90% cut in production or their colonies are killing off any offspring produced. Most started losing production about 2 weeks before Hurricane Charley and now production is virtually non-existant among the breeders I've talked to. Has anyone else noticed that Rodents stop production before/after Hurricanes?

We are in Miami and only have about 70 breeder females but have NOT noticed conditions you describe,

Breeding is going well here.
