my female phantasticus is finally visibly mating! yaaaayyyyy! i hope this means eggs within a month or so! finally something is getting active this season.

aw man, this is a good one. ive got some pics (i couldnt help myself), as well as a little movie of a peculiar behavior of my female after a few minutes of mating....she started twitching her head real suddenly in a short spurt, then wait about 30 seconds or so and do it again. like i said, i got it on video, but it was pretty dark and didnt come out too good. perhaps ill be able to find some video editing software to try to lighten it up. nevertheless, you can see the head shakes in the video.
