Snows are underated........anyone agree???

lilroach56 Sep 25, 2004 10:26 AM

Does anyone here agree with me about snows being underated?
Michael Joliff is selling a FEMALE for 25k, you can't even buy a Fireball (het for leucy) for that much. Why is it that leucy's (even though some strains are incomplete dominant) are priced soooooo much more than the Snows? I mean if you want an all white snake, at least get one with flaming red eyes. Is anyone else with me that Snows are much nicer looking than the leucy's?

Agreed and a lot harder to produce! Take a look at the snows that were produced and are in one place to view.

Way more lucies out there than snows to. A white ball python with pink eyes, can't beat that.

All white with yellow markings. Yuck! For a white snake, the leucistics look way better. 25K is "under-rated"? Thats alot of money dude.

Leucistics are way "over-rated", the snakes that produce leucies are much prettier IMO.

Snows are way hard to produce and i'd love to try the challange. However, the all white and red eyes is not so amazing as most albino animals have red eyes. Give me black or, longing sigh, blue eyed leucy any day.

And if someone will GIVE me one, that'd be great because I sure can't afford one!

I agree, the blue-eyed leucy is the best looking white snake. I would love to have them all, but for looks I think there are alot better looking Balls out there than an all white one.

Here is a pic of RDR's lavendar albino, VPI snow, and Jol. snow. The Jol. snow is on the bottom. And in my opinion does look like a faded albino; however the VPI snow is on the top and has only 3-4 pea size spots of yellow and the rest is pure white.
Hope you enjoy the pic.

I agree w/ Bachman and 7......the WOW factor is just not there with the snows...not much different than a faded albino......a lot of time and luck hatching something that doesn't make one go "Holy Sh!t!"..........JMO

They both rock!!!!!

You can do so much with a snow.....
anything it breeds will be het for both albino and axanthic....so breed it to a pied you will have triple hets...ect ect

Lucy makers rock too.... plattys, lessers, phantoms, mojaves, Yellow bellies, fires...... one their own are killer animals...and when combined with each other and other morphs you never know what you will get.....

They both deserve respect LOL

Some of the snows do look like faded albinos that is sooooo true. But to see a snow with hardly any yellow is just sooooo sweet.

The picture bellow is Brian Sharp's snow. Tell me that looks like a pale albino.

"Tell me that looks like a pale albino".....

That looks like a pale albino.

Thats from VPI blood, right? SK's snows look killer to. I guess some of us are just not too thrilled with a white snake (they are popping up everywhere LOL). I like snows for their value, but for looks I would pick almost any Ball morph over one.

I saw his first one he produced at the Hamburg show. It was one of the reasons I purchased 1.2 possible dh snows from him. I have a 100% dh snow that I received from him last year.....I am growing up a real light albino for him too. I tried breeding him to a real big normal girl this year.
I have not heard if anyone has produced a snow from the SK line except them. I have bred a male SK line to a het SK line and produced axanthics and hets the last two years. I tried him to an albino and no babies yet.....Perhaps next year.
You will all hear me when and if I produce a snow!!!!!!
And I will work on other projects too with the SK line. I held back a girl from last year
