Hey, what are we going to do about a 2005 calendar? I'm going to miss not having a boa calendar to look at. I even have one at work in my control booth. All the officers love it!

I haven't taken many photos this year at all. Partly because of lack of time and partly because of the drama on this forum. I know it sounds retarded but people actually blame me for recent market trends , like my photos influenced people to buy certain looking animals ? That's a crock if I ever heard one .... I think the market is ever evolving and this forum , while more important then most people want to admit , isn't gonna change the mind of every herper out there. I can't tell you how many emails I have gotten over the years from newbies asking me where to buy quality animals, of course in response I send them to whoever I know .. Right Guys ? Some people are just taking this thing wayyyyyy to seriously and taking all the fun out of it for me... OK , done venting

Charles, I would never credit one person w/ the perceived demise of a particular market like BCC. I would however credit a particular forum, namely this one, for the increased awareness of overall attractive characteristics. I would also blame this forum for allowing people to think that these animals that are posted here regularly (showcasing the best of the best) are the norm, rather than the exception. And lastly, if they've found this forum, they've also found the classifieds and they've seen what importers are selling BCC for and these people are under the impression that these healthy attractive animals posted on this forum are the same that these importers are selling for just over $100 a piece. So, when someone has a litter of healthy, normal looking (or even better than average-just not exceptional) BCC and tries to sell them individually and receives no response, I think they can easily find the culprit. But, at the same time, this forum is responsible for increasing the demand for overall numbers as well, so it's a double edged sword.
Obviously, there are NUMEROUS other factors such as reputation, customer service, ad placement and quality, etc... that will affect an individuals perception of the market as it relates to their sales. But if anyone is directly blaming you for a downward trend in the overall demand or pricing of boas, then they just don't pay enough attention. I think you always ask an appropriate dollar value for your animals when you sell them.
Anyway, I'm rambling b/c I'm bored as I sit here and wait on yet another hurricane to knock out my power (3rd time in a row) so I'll shut up...
Later, jb

I totally agree with you on the fact that what you see posted is most times not an accurate representation of the majority of the animals produced. And yes it works both ways , it pushes the prices of the most desired animals up and the price of the average animal down. That's life it,happends in every market, supply and demand ... the funny part is , while blaming the forum nobody bothered to think about how many litters have been produced in the past couple of years VS what was produced in the 90's ... the numbers are up , BIG TIME , so it will be a little harder to move your animals. The economy sucks , if people are going to spend their money of course they are gonna buy what they find most appealing.

JB, your input is always appreciated ... keep going

Well, I'm sorry to hear this. I guess I'll have to make do with a horse calendar I don't know anything about all that other stuff about BCC's and market issues with them. That sounds a little silly to blame one person for something like that. Gee....Charles, you must wield more power than I realized.....snork, snork

Jonathan, take care down there guy. I've been glued to the telly all evening watching Jeanne approach.
