There have been a LOT of posts lately which contain no punctuation. I know this is the usual way when chatting (one of the reasons I don't "chat" and is more common among younger posters (that is not a judgement, just an observation) but it makes a post very difficult to read.

I am sure I am not the only one who is bothered by this. When there is a paragraph of run-on sentences I will often just leave the post and not reply. No caps is fine, but PLEASE use some basic commas and periods.

Well in defense to the Puctually challenged i would just like to say that this being a CHAMELEON FORUM and not an English forum that
IT JUST DOESNT MATTER!
There may be alot of reasons people dont punctuate as well as you want them to,maybe its faster to type without having to do that?
Or in my case, i've been out of school a long while and haven't
flexed my grammer muscles lately

Not at all...why did you think it was aimed at you? My complaint are the run on sentences that have been appearing as of late with no punctuation whatsoever. When it is an entire paragraph it is difficult to make sense of. I am not commenting on proper grammar. Gosh, if that was a problem none of us would be here! I also do not expect everyone to spell check and proofread - I usually do but that is just b/c I am obsessive about stuff like that - and even then I will certainly misspell, etc.

I agree, it is quicker, but an occassional comma or period would be helpful. I belive that most of these posters are younger (not older like me and you) b/c the run on sentences are common in chat rooms and IM.

So I have no idea why you felt singled out or got so defensive but you were NOT the aim of this thread. What I found interesting about the ones who do it not responding is b/c they probably have no idea what the problem is - and that is NOT a slam to any of them. Thsi was just an observation and a fun thread came out of it. Whew!
