Cypress for pacman frog??

MikeT Sep 25, 2004 10:14 PM

Hi,
I had a nice decent size pacman that just dropped dead out of nowhere today. He seemed fine just hours before, as I had him out and he was active and jumping. I had been using soil, sph.moss, and leaf litter for substrate, but just the other day switched to cypress mulch (for no particular reason). Could this have caused his death? He had eaten fine about a week ago.
thanks

I use cypress mulch for my monitors, snakes and torts because you can get a huge bag for like 6 bucks at my local garden shop and have never had a problem with it. My friend as well has like 6,000 invested in gilas and he is faithful to cypress mulch and has never had a problem with it. I have not tried it with my pacmans though, I still use bed a beast because of its moisture retention but I wouldnt see the problem other than maybe causing an impaction, but youre just as likely to get that with repitbark.
