Nature Center Aligators

skinner Jun 27, 2003 12:03 AM

Ok heres the deal. Last summer my wife goes driveing around the Fort Worth Nature Center and happens to see an aligator, about four feet in length, down in the bottoms. So her reptile freak husband jumps in his truck, camera in hand, and to this day i have seen no aligators. Ive found several sunning spots with tracks and drag marks, but no gator. This spring i finaly folded and asked the wife to show me where she saw it. While walking to the spot, she stepped right over the top of a cottonmouth. She never saw it until it was over, but i saw her step over it with its mouth gaped open, completly freaking me out, and causing me to push my wife and yell something i still cant remember. Got some realy awsome pics of the cotton afterwards, but where in the heck are the gators? I saw in the paper that there was a siminar recently about them given at the nature center, so aparently she realy saw one. So where? skinner

Why is everyone so secretive about the alligators at the nature center? They where in the freakin news paper for crying out loud. Every fisherman on the water in the river at the center has heard of em but not seen them. I stopped and asked an employee at the center about them, said hes seen them here , there, all over. No spacifics. Talked to a woman in the info. building, asked her if she could give me any info on the alligators Ive heard so much about. Oh theyve been seen here, there, pritty much everywhere. So i post a question here, since, yall are the ones that would know if anyone would. No answer. Whats the deal? Like the gators arent subjected to fishermen, canoe tours, constant auto traffic, hikers, bikers, and everything else under the sun. Im talking about photos from a distance. Skinner
