how long after a meal....?

drey Sep 26, 2004 09:09 AM

Hi, i fed my boa 2 hoppers on the 20th(monday) and he has yet to defecate. Have tried soaking him in warm water but, nope no result yet. the temps on the warm side are around 90F. Is this normal to take this long? I'm getting kinda worried about the fella, though he seems hungry already, i'm reluctant to feed him again.

Advice appreciated

Drey, you didn't say how old the boa was, but if your feeding two hoppers I'll assume he's only a few months old at this point.

With regards to not defecating... it's only been 7 days, he'll go when he's ready. I'd offer him a single hopper tomorrow and if he eats, he was ready to eat.

Hope that helps,
