I have not posted anything about this problem, as I have been reading passively about everyone's troubles with feeding and have gleaned knowledge from it.
I received Sagira after talking to the prior owner about her feeding...F/T he said...Ok, so easy enough. I let her settle in to her new home for about a week and half before trying to feed her a first meal. I got prekilled (which in the end of things, F/T and PK seem almost to be the same...once one warms to room temp. of course!) for both Zan and Sagira. Zan had taken it right from the tongs and it was gone soon after. Sagira, however seemed to avoid it, shook it around, made it look like it was running in the box but to no avail. Let her be with it for about an hour but she nary touched it at all. Fed that to my friend's burmese for a snack then. Tried again the next week, still tried to make it look lively, but she used it as a pillow and seemed to take a nap in there. I left that one with her overnight and she STILL never ate it! I fed that one to the burm also.
At this point I am getting tired of feeding my friend's snake, so I break down and try a LIVE mouse. I put her in, put in the mouse and she stalked it for about 20 min and then grabbed it and downed it! I am SOOOOO happy now....but I guess the guy that had her before me had some kind of a trick up his sleeve that I don't know about, or she really was NOT on F/T. Either way, I got some FOOD in her and it's all good now.
I would have tried "braining" but that sounded a little too gross for me. I will just have to wean her off of live down to PK I suppose. F/T is not really an option with 2 roomies and frozen foods we like to eat.
Here is a pic of Sagira after her *first* meal with me.
