Ironically, I often mistake black racers for hognoses whenever I get just a glimpse of them! Black racers have a funny shaped rostrum compared to other snakes, that slightly resembles hognoses. Thank you for letting them be wild.

and the only time I will is if it is something that Im looking for specifically and it is a very nice specimen. Other than that, we take lots of pics and let them go where they were found.

Kudos for photographing and releasing. Our natural areas could always use the hognoses they have.

We figured that is the best place for them. And the area they are in is a pretty safe location.
