Bulbs

dragonfliz79 Sep 26, 2004 07:42 PM

I was wondering what is a good bulb to use? I've been using the Powersun UV Bulb. But they don't seem to last that long. One website mentioned using these bulbs will help get a better coloration in the future. Is that true?

Thanks,

Powersuns have iffy lifespans. For good UV and pretty good longevity, you can try the MegaRay MVB at reptileuv.com. It has an excellent reputation.

When I switched from fluorescents to MV, my uros brightened up considerably. I doubt it changes their potential for color, but it brings out their best. Of course, so does natural sunlight, if you live somewhere warm enough to get them outside.

I haven't used the MegaRay yet - I've just heard excellent things about it. I'm currently using T-Rex UVHeat SPOT bulbs, plus additional halogen lights for a little extra heat.
