I will either soak mine if she gets herself dirty,or when she is going to shed soon. So its basically for me just when she needs a good soaking.
The 1st is to buid a cage large enough with a drainable basin to fill with water and allow the snake to choose when he or she wishes to soak. Doing this ups the amount of maitnance becaise retics will deficate in clean water a couple times a week if given the choice. The next is a suggestion that has worked for me. I try to soak the retics once they go into blue then one week after they have shed, this works out to e be twice a month however during the summer they seem to get soaked more because of the warmr temps here. Soaking sure does help them out a ton and really gets you hands on with your animals. A trust builds from this and it helps out big when they are 18ft or more..
Hope this advice helps
