How long can fuzzy Rats survive and at what temps should they be housed at?

kylescott Sep 27, 2004 02:34 AM

I have 4 baby ball python on f/t rats, 1 on live and one not eating. The one on live was sopost to be eating f/t rats when shipped from the breeder, but the ball isn't interested in f/t and I am just happy she is eating. I really don't like going to my rodent breeder just for a few live baby rats, but until I get the ball switched to f/t I have no choice. I can house the fuzzies in one of the tubs of the rack. I want to house as many as possible for the one of live (maybe 2-the one not eating) w/ out buying to many and having them die on me. I also don't want to buy not enought and have to be going back and fourth to my rodent breeder. I won't be supplying food or water, just a warm place for them to stay before there eaten. What should the temps be, low 80s? My rack is from the low 80s (cool side) to 91-92 warm side). I offer my babies 3-4 meals a week. I just want to know how long can a fuzzy survive w/ out food or water and at what temp should they be at? ......to much detail for just two questions, but any help would be great, thanks.

Kyle

You might try asking that question in the "Feeder Food Discussion" forum.
