New Uro Cage Building Experience

purduecg Sep 27, 2004 09:30 AM

Hi guys!

I spent the weekend working on a new cage for Archimedes, it is not quite done, but I wanted to share it anyway, since I am quite proud of myself. Especially given that it was really my maiden voyage into the world of furniture building!

The cage and habitat forum was crucial to me finishing the project!

Very nice.

I see you decided to go with the false ceiling. After you get it all set up and use it for a while let us know how you like it. I almost did that on mine and still am thinking about it. I like the ease of having an unenclosed screen top (for peeking down through it and messing with bulbs) but an enclosed screen top sure would help cut down the light streaming out of it. My enclosure now acts like one huge halogen uplight... I can read by it from across the room

That seems like a ton of work. Good job and I congratulate you for doing it all with the patience of a goddess!

I think if I build anything I'm going to build a stand for all the animals. It'll be massive but I'll be able to break it down into small bits.

Once again GOOD JOB!

The cage is HOT!!!!!!!!!
Did you design it yourself or did you find the plans online?
I'd love to see more pictures once it's totally done. If posible could you send or post the layout? Nikki-79@juno.com

Thanks.

I designed it myself, but it is directly based off of a cage Chris harper made. Chris helped me a TON while I was designing cages. This was actually my third attempt, the other 2 were way too complicated for a beginner!

I will post more pictures and the design when I get a chance, probably in about a week. I wish I had taken more picture of the process, but I couldn't find my digital camera right away! lol.
